Each entry names the behaviour, explains the alarming conclusion an onlooker might reach, and gives the private logic that makes the character sympathetic and specific.
Use the tells, costs, and scene uses to build characters whose awkward habits create actual pressure. A careful observer may look unnervingly practised at courtship. Gratitude can be received as a proposal. In this court, a compliment may be treated as a claim, with witnesses already discussing the guest list.
